Nudist idea #56: Go to a naked sauna

One of the many things I’ve never understood is the policy to keep a towel on in a sauna, or even a swimsuit in a wet sauna. It really, really sucks! I love going for 10 to 15 minutes in a sauna after a good workout, and I always go naked.

In Northern Europe, most saunas, if not all are naked ones. I love this post on the Finnish sauna experience. Sauna is IMHO better experienced totally naked so you can sweat and relax nicely. Wherever there’s a sauna and I have time to have one, I never wear anything under my towel. If there are other users in the sauna, I ask if they mind if I take my towel off knowing that I’m naked. I’ve never had a no! Actually, I’ve had smiles and people taking their towels off too. And we are on a great conversation about naturism and its many benefits.

Being naked is comfortable. If you are not totally comfortable with your own naked body, spending some time in a naked sauna with other like-minded people will definitely help. Like the experience in a nudist club or resort, you will encounter all body shapes, all kinds of people, but almost always, very friendly and open-minded one. Going to a sauna entirely naked is definitely something you should consider on your quest to more social nudity, and it’s said to be good for your health!
