This Week in the Nudist World: 14-20 September 2026 — The Season Changes Shape

This week, the Nude House starts a new rendez-vous for everyone interested in nudism and naturism: This Week in the Nudist World. Every week, we will go over what’s up in the nudism world. It’s a way for us to stay up-to-date and to share with you, our readers.

This week, the naturist season is not ending. It is changing shape. This week moves between late summer at Vera Playa, walks and swims across Britain, and ordinary club evenings built around games, food and conversation. The calendar is less about one great spectacle than about continuity.

That continuity deserves attention. Naturism lasts when people can find a real next occasion: a beach walk, a pool session, a weekend under canvas or a table where newcomers are welcome. The strongest organisations are already looking beyond this month, while local groups keep the culture alive one modest gathering at a time.

What Has Happened

British Naturism Opens Its 2027 Festival Calendar

British Naturism has opened booking for its four major 2027 festivals: NKD from 29 May to 2 June, Nudefest from 6 to 11 July, Woodlandia from 30 July to 2 August, and EveryBody from 12 to 16 August. Woodlandia moves from early June to late July after three years of difficult weather. Releasing the programme this early gives members time to plan and shows confidence in naturism as a durable annual culture rather than a last-minute summer novelty. What Is Happening This Week

Run to the Sun Keeps Summer Moving at Vera Playa

British Naturism’s new Run to the Sun week began at Vera Playa on 14 September. Its programme mixes beach volleyball, craft sessions, card games and beach walks, with participation kept optional. The idea is simple and useful: people who might otherwise share a destination without quite finding one another are given gentle ways to become a temporary community. The British Calendar Moves from Rambling to a Bay Cruise

The 14-20 September calendar includes a NatRam walk at Kendyke, yoga in East Sussex, camping at Neath Abbey, a Dorset ramble, the Splash skinny dip and sauna, a Cardiff Bay naturist boat trip and a broad run of local swims. The variety is the story. Naturist life can be active, quiet, local, social or restorative without needing to explain itself as anything more exotic. Browse the September calendar.

A Club Weekend Is Built from Games and Shared Time

The Naturist Foundation’s programme pairs Rummikub on Friday 18 September with miniten and Oktoberfest on Saturday 19 September. None of these activities depends on novelty. They show the social infrastructure of a club: familiar games, recurring venues and reasons to stay after the formal activity has ended. See the Naturist Foundation programme.

What Will Happen Later This Month

The International Naturist Movement Meets in Hungary

The International Naturist Federation will hold its 40th World Congress in Kecskemét from 24 to 26 September, preceded by a EuNat meeting on 23 September. It is the first INF-FNI World Congress held in Hungary and coincides with the twentieth anniversary of the Federation of Naturists of Hungary. As the federation’s General Assembly, the congress is where member federations meet for formal decisions, elections and discussion of the movement’s direction. Read the INF-FNI announcement.

Local Weekends Continue on Both Sides of the Atlantic

On Saturday 26 September, the Sequoians in California host Jamaica Day with food, crafts and a full-moon hike. The same weekend, British calendars list swims, a museum visit, walking and other local sessions. International congresses shape policy; club calendars give that policy a lived culture. See AANR’s event listing and British Naturism’s calendar.

House Note from Alma

Run to the Sun stays with me because it understands a quiet truth about belonging: people do not always need a grand welcome. Sometimes they need one small invitation that makes joining possible without making refusal awkward. A walk, a card game or a volleyball match can soften the space between arriving and feeling included. Naturist confidence is often built there, in ordinary participation, when the body is no longer the subject and the day has begun to carry everyone along.
